About Me
Hello! I am Sid, a first-year astrophysics PhD student at UVa. I am interested in the dynamics and formation of various astrophysical systems, ranging from planets to stars to galaxies.
Previously, I was a physics and astronomy bachelor's student at UofT, and an astrophysics master's student at UCL.
Research
Excitation of Planetary Obliquities through Planet-Star Interactions
Theoretically investigated the effects of Star-Planet interactions on the excitation of planetary obliquities.
Dynamics of the atmospheres of ultra-hot Jupiters
Studied the atmospheric dynamics of hot Jupiters due to cooling and rotation by implementing a well-balancing method.
Giant Planet Seismology
Looked at the effects of the rotation of Jupiter on its internal modes of oscillation and studied their gravitational perturbations on the satellite Juno.
